| Members
receive paid subscriptions to The Highlander, a U.S.
magazine about Scotland and its history, published seven times
a year. One issue is the invaluable "Directory"
issue, printed each April. Members also receive quarterly
Scottish Heritage USA's newsletter and three times a year
Scotland in Trust, The National Trust for Scotland's
new magazine that keeps its members and friends abreast of
all the latest Trust news.
Except
for $10.50 to cover the price of The Highlander, dues
are tax deductible.
Upon
presentation of a current Scottish Heritage USA membership
card, you will be admitted to all National Trust for Scotland
properties free of charge. Because The National Trust for
Scotland has a reciprocal agreement with the National Trust
of England, Wales and Northern Ireland, our members also receive
free admission into those properties in the National Trust's
care.
Each
year our members enjoy a Spring Gathering held in different
locations, in order that we can get to know as many of our
members as possible. A visiting guest of honor gives a presentation
and then we all enjoy the companionship of fellow members
during a luncheon, followed by some Scottish entertainment.
Every year visitors from around the world converge on Grandfather
Mountain in Linville, N.C., to enjoy the Highland Games. Scottish
Heritage USA holds a reception on Sunday evening following
the Games at the historic Eseeola Lodge. It is a wonderful
opportunity for our far-flung membership to gather and celebrate
their heritage, make new friends and renew old friendships.
